Hoare 1993Modiolus (Modiolus) with straight hingeline; small beaks overhang hingeline close to anterior margin; anterior lobe small; ventral margin gently convex; posterior margin evenly curved meeting dorsal margin at obtuse angle of 150?; umbos slightly inflated; umbonal ridge low, forming angle of 22˚ with dorsal margin; ventral and dorsal margins diverge at angle of approximately 12?; surface ornamented by numerous, fine, comarginal growth increments; other features not observed.
